Nature, Adventure & Shared Moments

A forest holiday for families – adventure instead of animation

A family holiday in the forest – it sounds like muddy boots, happy laughter, and the fresh scent of pine trees. That is exactly what we want you to experience at the Waldgut Nature Resort. Here, children can simply be children – curious, wild, and playful – while parents finally have the chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy nature.

What makes Waldgut so special? We do not offer a rigid animation program. Instead, we create space where curiosity can grow freely and adventures emerge naturally. Between trees, meadows, and winding paths, children explore at their own pace while parents enjoy a slower rhythm of life.

Why Waldgut is perfect for families

Waldgut is not a classic kids’ hotel – and that is exactly its charm. There are no loud mascots, no endless shows, but plenty of opportunities for genuine discovery. Children can learn independence and creativity, while parents know their kids are safe and engaged.

On our 13 hectares of forest and meadow, families find something rare: a place where children discover freely, and adults can recharge at the same time.

Our favorite family places at Waldgut

Indoor playroom with climbing wall & slide

The perfect spot for rainy days or quiet afternoons. Kids can climb, slide, and build while parents relax nearby.

Mud playground for little explorers

A true highlight for younger guests. With mud tables, water channels, a play hut, and natural bushes, boredom has no chance. Muddy hands? That’s part of the fun!

Nature playground in the birch grove

Nestled among tall birch trees, balancing beams and natural play equipment invite children to jump, balance, and hide – all while experiencing the forest up close.

Soccer field & table tennis

For older kids – and sporty parents – our soccer pitch and table tennis table are the perfect places to move, compete, and laugh together.

Amphitheater in the greenery

Our semi-open stage is not only for organized events. Children can perform their own plays, tell stories, dance, or simply sit and observe. Creativity has no limits here.

Experimental kitchen for young researchers

In our workshops, children (and adults) can discover what makes our region unique: local herbs, fragrant teas, and of course, our very own Waldgut Honey.

Family time that truly connects

At Waldgut, families don’t just spend time together – they create memories. Children can run barefoot through the grass while parents enjoy a quiet moment under the trees. Evenings may be spent at the campfire, or sharing a breakfast with fresh Waldgut Honey.

Many parents tell us that here they find what everyday life often lacks: real time together – without pressure, without schedules, but with moments that remain unforgettable.

Why a forest holiday is so valuable for families

  • Time together: Away from routines, families rediscover each other.
  • Natural activity: Children are automatically active outdoors – no animation required.
  • Learning by doing: The forest becomes a teacher – from animal tracks to wild herbs.
  • Parental relaxation: While children play safely, adults can relax guilt-free.
  • Memories for life: Shared adventures become family stories that last forever.

Tips for planning your family stay

  1. Pack for adventure: Rubber boots, outdoor clothes, and curiosity are essential.
  2. Go with the flow: Allow your children to set the pace – the best experiences happen unplanned.
  3. Join in: Play soccer, climb logs, or get muddy – shared play creates bonds.
  4. Slow down: While kids explore, enjoy a tea and the peace of the forest.

Conclusion: More than a family holiday

Waldgut is more than just a place to stay – it is a place to experience. Children explore, adults relax, and together families create unforgettable memories. A family holiday at Waldgut means nature, adventure, relaxation – and stories that will be told for years to come.
