From Hive to Breakfast Table – The Story of Waldgut Honey

The bees by the forest edge – small wonders of nature

Take a walk across the meadows surrounding the Waldgut Nature Resort on a sunny day, and you will hear it immediately: a gentle, steady hum. Our busy bees are at work, flying between wildflowers, herbs, and the forest edge. They are not only essential guardians of biodiversity, but also the producers of a very special treasure – our Waldgut Honey.

From the very beginning, when the resort was still a vision on paper, one thing was clear: we wanted our own honey. A product that reflects our philosophy – regional, sustainable, and deeply connected to nature. Honey is more than just a sweet treat here; it is a symbol of harmony between humans and the natural world.

Honey with character – every harvest is unique

We harvest our Waldgut Honey several times a year, right here at the resort. What makes it so remarkable: each batch has its own character. Sometimes linden blossoms dominate, sometimes wild herbs or the delicate notes of forest flora. Weather, seasons, and flowering diversity all influence the taste.

This is why our honey is never quite the same. It is a living natural product, authentic and surprising with every spoonful. Guests who try it quickly realize: this is more than sweetness – it’s the taste of the landscape itself.

How you can enjoy Waldgut Honey

During your stay at Waldgut, you will encounter our honey in many different ways:

  • At breakfast: Spread on freshly baked bread or drizzled over yogurt and fruit – a perfect start to the day.
  • In our restaurant: Our chefs use honey in creative ways – in dressings, marinades, and most of all in our desserts.
  • In workshops: We occasionally host small honey events, where guests can learn how honey is made, discover the fascinating world of bees, and understand why their protection is so vital.
  • In our shop: Take a jar of Waldgut Honey home as a gift, a souvenir, or simply a sweet reminder of your time at the resort.

Sustainability starts small

For us, bees are not simply honey producers – they are partners in maintaining the richness of our landscape. Their pollination work is essential for the diversity of plants and blossoms in our meadows and forest.

By producing our own honey, we contribute to sustainable cycles and short production routes. Our honey is never industrially processed; it is carefully harvested and bottled right here at Waldgut. This way, it remains natural, pure, and full of valuable nutrients.

Health benefits – nature in a jar

Honey has been valued for centuries as a natural remedy. Waldgut Honey is rich in enzymes, minerals, and antioxidants. It can support the immune system, soothe sore throats, and provide a natural energy boost.

What makes it so special is the combination of flavor and benefit – every spoonful offers both a moment of enjoyment and a gentle touch of wellness.

A taste of home to take with you

A jar of Waldgut Honey is more than a product – it’s a piece of Waldgut itself. Many of our guests take one home, as a keepsake or a thoughtful gift for loved ones. With every taste, they reconnect with the memories of their stay: the peaceful forest, the buzzing bees, and the natural atmosphere of our resort.

Conclusion: Sweet sustainability, authentic taste

Waldgut Honey is small, authentic, and unique – just like our resort. It tells the story of mindfulness, sustainability, and the close bond between people and nature.

Try it during your next stay, taste it in our restaurant, or take it home as a souvenir. With every spoonful, you’ll discover the essence of our surroundings – calmness, nature, and craftsmanship.
